NPAC Supports Native Youth Leadership at Elite Football Camp
The 2025 Elite Football Camp, hosted by the Navajo Preparatory School (NPS) football program and coordinated by Head Coach Roderick Denetso, brought together Native college student-athletes to mentor middle and high school participants through athletic and life skills development. The camp was held June 25-27, 2025, at the NPS football field in Farmington, New Mexico.
The camp offered a comprehensive experience focused on both football fundamentals and personal development. Athletic instruction included 7-on-7 competition, position-specific drills, weightlifting techniques, and specialized footwork for quarterbacks, linemen, wide receivers, and running backs.
In addition, campers gained hands-on exposure to life skills including dormitory-style living, resume writing, the college application process, career exploration, nutrition, concussion awareness, and prevention education on bullying, suicide, drugs, and alcohol.
The National Indian Youth Council, Inc. (NIYC) / Native Professional Advancement Center (NPAC) proudly supported the camp by sponsoring two young participants: Dallas Wilson and Isiah Herbert, both NPS student-athletes and nearby residents of Farmington, New Mexico.
